Q. How often should the treatment be performed?
A. Undercoat grows back after about 4-6 weeks. You will see the best results having your pet on a monthly basis to reduce their shedding.

Q. Does the FURminator deShedding Tool cut the hair?
A. No, the deShedding Tool does not cut hair, it just gently pulls out the fluffy undercoat, leaving the topcoat shiny and undamaged.

Q. Does the deShedding Tool work without the FURminator deShedding Shampoo & Solution?
A. Yes, but the treatment is even more effective with the shampoo and solution.

Q. On which dog breeds should the FURminator deShedding Tool be used?
A. The tool will work on all shedding dogs and even on some traditionally "hair-cut-only" dogs, like Terriers and Spaniels to coarsen the coat and blend clipper tracks. A few breeds that are typically not good candidates for the FURminator Shed-Less Treatment are Poodles, Shitzus, Maltese, Bichons, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Irish Water Spaniels.

Q. Does the FURminator Shed-Less Treatment work on terriers?
A. Yes, and in addition to removing the undercoat and loose hair, the treatment also offers some additional benefits for terriers. Terriers have a naturally coarse coat, and many of the show dogs are hand "striped" to keep this texture in their topcoats. But using a clipper "softens" the coat, which is not desirable. Using the FURminator deShedding Tool on a regular basis, however, will help retain that coarse terrier coat on dogs that have had their hair trimmed with clippers. Schnauzers can also develop a darker color "stripe" down their backs from clippers. The deShedding Tool will help eliminate this "stripe" and help return the coat to its original color
